Web Design Process

Website design is a process. You can’t start designing and planning without first learning about the business and purpose of the website.

Step 1 Learning About the Business

Learning about your business and why you want a new website. There can be one of more reasons why you would want a website:

  • Showcase your work
  • Getting more leads
  • Establishing Internet presence and credibility
  • Keep your customers informed about your business
  • Continuous advertisement and 24/7/365 accessibility
  • Targetting a wider market
Step 2 Research Industry & Competitors

It is a great idea to see what your competitors and others in the industry are doing, to get some ideas in place and improve on them. It is also helpful not to have to reinvent the wheel and start from zero.

Step 3 Draft Website

Presenting a mock-up of layout, hierarchy, options, and give you an idea where we would go from there.

In order to proceed we would need a few things from you:

  • your logo and tagline
  • hosting information
  • assets such as pictures, graphics, videos
  • content for the site
  • decision on colors, fonts, branding requirements
Step 4 Launch

Before the website is launched things need to be checked, reviewed and tested:

  • All pages need to be reviewed
  • Site and design needs to be approved
  • Plugins are implemented
  • Functionality is tested
  • Responsive design across browsers and devices is tested
  • Content is reviewed for spelling and information errors

Then we launch.

Below is a very large kitchen and bathroom remodeling website that needed redesign. We wanted to incorporate all the years of beautiful work to showcase it as a portfolio. All the assets needed to be organized and resized into 40 projects.

The New Frontier Living Inc. website is built with Divi Web Page Builder for WordPress. It went live in Sept 2020.

I actually designed this website myself in 2016 using Bootstrap. It has been a while and it needed updating. There were a lot of portfolio pictures that we wanted to showcase and provide more information.

Old NFL HomeAbout

Since this is a kitchen and bathroom remodeling service, it was important to showcase the many beautiful projects completed by the company. I wanted to showcase all projects by the kitchen, bathroom, and custom work. Portfolio and work were going to take primary space.
